TX, where else should I be?
I'm thinking about doing the same because when I go out in the kayak I usually have two heavy catfish rods, a bass/medium fish rod (either 6.5' ugly stick or 7' cabelas prodigy) and a little perch rod for bait. When me and a friend take our flat bottom out we have those rods x2 plus kayak paddles and cane poles. I dont like laying gear in the bed with the tailgate down.

Have you figured out a way to lock them in? Another friend of mine lives in Corpus Christi and does a bunch of surf fishing and he has had over $2000 in gear stolen right out of the racks. I'm not sure how, he runs 40" tires and over 12"s of lift in a chevy 2500.

I could mount 2 stainless tie down pieces underneath the rack and rig up some stainless rubber coated cable. That way you could run the cable through the rods/reels and through the tie downs with a pad lock to secure them all.

How did you mount it in the bed? Looks Great!

If you look in your bed you will see 2 factory holes on the sides by the corners at the front of the bed. You gain access to these through the removable caps on the bedrails. I bolted the rack to the bed using those holes. It only uses 2 bolts.
