Spring is coming up in a few months and since it's already in the shop, now would be the perfect time to get it ready to ride. I will be replacing old/worn out parts and adding a few aftermarket ones too. I did a small "rebuild" last summer (LINK) and will be doing more of the same this time. This thread will serve as the build thread with progress pictures and any questions I may encounter during the build.

My first question---The other day I went to start it and when I hit the start button it made a clicking noise. It didn't fire up and crank over, just a clicky, grinding noise. My immediate thought was DEAD battery. My brother tried to start it yesterday but couldn't get it to start. I pulled the battery out and that is the current state of where I am. What do you guys think?

I would say the battery is shot, if not I suppose the solenoid could be going to pot. You can test it by just jumpering across the 2 posts, it should fire or at least crank like normal.

What do you have planned exactly?

I'll ask my dad what he thinks. The first big thing I have planned is to replace all the plastic. I have the front piece already, just need the gas tank and rear piece. I don't really need new tires, but my brother bought used ones and the right rear had a plug in it  I'll probably get an all-terrain tire since it's 2wd. I'll get some new wheels too. I may or may not camo clad it, it just depends on what it looks like. I'll probably buy an LED brakelight bulb and brighter bulbs for the headlights. Not sure if I want to get an aftermarket muffler. I'm going to take the skidplate and racks off and spray them with truck bedliner. That's pretty much it as far as aftermarket stuff, the rest will be replacing oem parts

Edt: Depending on price, I want to get a winch too

I have a big gun full system exhaust on mine, I found on ebay that was returned becuse of a minute scratch, and I mean minute on the back side that you never even would see. I got it for $250 and it lists for almost $700.
As far as the winches go, warn is the best, but I heard/read many reviews on gorrilla winches and I decided to go with one, becuase the are pretty much exact copies of warn's. My first one had a messed up sun gear, and the were great about getting me parts to fix it, but then it happened again, so they sent me a brand new winch no questions asked and told me to keep the old one. This one has been going strong for over 2 years, and alot of plowing too

The front piece is busted on the left fender. The plastic is old and faded and would look wierd with half new/half old. I tried to find some HID's but couldn't find one for my fourwheeler :dunno:

Start at the battery is what I would do. You can even use the one in the truck to see if it is the issue.

What would be the easiest way to check it? I have just about every electrical testing equipment necessary.

I want one that's not too loud (hunting), but one that's got a nice sound and looks good. I may paint it if I don't like the color. For the winch I want something that can pull myself or someone else out of a mudhole. I don't get stuck often but when I do I want one powerful enough to get me or another atv out
