I don't know about you guys.... but im looking forward to taking a spin in one to see what 420 lb-ft of torque feels like @ 2500 RPM in a 1500 series truck.

It should be sweet!! I'm betting the vehicle a dealer uses for test drives is going to need new tires fast

Not with all the nannies they have in vehicles these days.

I was forced to drive our Sergeants 2010 Expedition one snowstorm and the traction control drove me up the wall. What once was a predictable RWD vehicle became almost as bad as a FWD vehicle in the snow. It was terrible.

I was longing for a Crown Vic.

Can't turn it off on those like a GM?

I drove a brand new F350 and the traction control doesn't seem to turn off... It gets less aggressive, but it's still there...
And some Fords there is no button.

Yes, Mr. Clemens, please run your own steroid screening and then give me the results and we'll go with that.

To be honest? No, I don't. The test procedure that all manufactures MUST use to get their vehicles federalized is a federal law.

You'll never convince me, or likely anyone else here, that having the manufacturers test their own vehicles is the better way to objectively evaluate these vehicles.

Agreed. The 425 lb-ft of torque my wife's X5 puts out is addicting. Her SUV tips the scales at almost 5,000lbs too. Granted, its a diesel but torque is torque, right?

I think with all the talk about power and MPG that Ford put out there, they over-hyped the MPG aspect.. If this is supposed to be the next Billy-Bad-Ass technology, it should provide more than 1 MPG increase..

It outperforms V8s on all fronts. That's pretty impressive... now we are going to start complaining that it doesn't outperform them "enough"?

You tell the public it has V8 power and great fuel economy, I (as "the public") expect better than 1 MPG better.. If they're going to charge more for it and it's not going to save me much money at the pump, what's the flippin' point?

The extra price they're going to charge for it, they might as well have stuck a bunch of battery packs in it, labeled it a "hybrid," said we were saving the planet, and been done with it!

Is it as great as all these videos they've been throwing in front of us? Ehhhh, I'm not so sure..

They hyped it up as the end all be-all and it gets ONE mpg better fuel economy.. Big frickin' deal!

The real world performance remains to be seen. Most people driving the 16-21 MPG GM trucks are lucky if they ever see 18. I guess we'll see if the Ford is similar.

Very true.. Time will tell and real-world reports will tell the tale..

The EPA #'s aren't impressing me, though.. At least not yet..

Based on some of the preliminary reports I had read, I expecting mid-20's.. 21..? ehhh, I could go easy on the throttle on road trips on my Denali and get 19/20 (and sometimes more).. So, 21 ain't that impressive to me..

Does that mean I could possibly get better than 21 out of an EcoBoost? Yeah.. But, it wasn't the leap I was hoping it might be..
