Josh, most of the new plugs come gapped for the application but it's always good to check them before install. If you have no gapper and can't get one, us a regular copper penny for your gap. It's just a shade less than 0.060".

i got the chilton opened up on the table, but i didn't see it listing the actual specification. the damn boots were such a pain in the ass, i just hopped on the bike and went back to checkers, to get a boot puller, gapper, and some much needed vice grips.

Look on page 1-39 towards the bottom of the page for the gap spec.

well, look at that there. bam, right in my face. got 5 of 8 done. # 5, 7, and 8 i can't get done. need a 3in extension that i dont have and #7 boot has proven to be quite the pain in the ass, more so then all the others have been.

Yeah #7 & 8 can be a real PITA. I always need a stubby extension for the #8 plug, wiggle and pull on the wires it will eventually turn loose.

mission accomplished. some 8 hours later. 3 visits to checkers + the GF stopping on the way home to grab me a 3in extension. (that didn't help) but! no banged up bloody knuckles! truck is running tremendously smoother! pretty sure the spark plugs were gapped a lil bit more then .060, but all around the same area. and for some reason this exhaust leak i thought i had, kind of quieted down also....strange. maybe this week i'll even in finish the whole exhaust.
