I read this last night and figured I'd post on it the next day, I didn't realize you'd all move it back 4 pages in that time period.

Regardless, probably one of the best online burns I've seen. Also probably one of the nicest online trucks I've seen. The flames aren't for me, but every other part on that truck is a solid 11/10. I've done a bunch of woodworking and have always tried to keep things square to make life easier for me, I can't imagine having to deal with all those angles on that front bumper. As for the hitch, did you make the whole thing or just weld the flames to a store bought drop bar? I'm going to assume you made the whole thing as it seems more inline with building everything else.

I can weld. I've used 6011 rods to tack pieces of rebar together. My welding instructions were, wear this (welding mask) and go like this.... zzzzzzt. Then the guy walked off. Everything was black, so I couldn't see, except when he was welding, at which point, everything was greenish. It's something I wish I knew how to do though. Maybe later in life I'll learn. Accounting/Finance degrees go well with a welding ticket no?

Unfortunately my truck is still stock, but I'm thinking of lift. So imagine a black RCSB with imaginary lift on it. . .

It's all in the past; I just got on a really good roll. So, welding rebar? That stuff is a bitch to burn on. I hate welding on anything that's cast or extruded. It's hard to get clean and doesn't weld as nice as pure stock. The flames on the hitch are part of the whole thing. It was cut on a flowjet machine out of 1 thock piece of carbon steel. The flame gusset in the back of it was also cut in this manner. I just welded it on. Everything is welded onto the solid piece of square bar stock that goes into the receiver. I use a speed lens. It makes welding so much easier than a standard welding hood. You can see through it fine just as if you were looking through a faceshield but once you spark the torch or strike an arc it goes dark in a split second to protect your eyes.
