Maybe its because I haven't fixed the 4x4 so I cant hit the mud. But I have been thinking alot about selling the Ford and buying a Jeep Grand/Cherokee. From a practical view the Jeep can still sling mud, be a better daily driver, and better on trails which is mostly what is here in south east Texas. Especially in Houston. The mud pit I usually go to for fun I can just about idle threw(but i can hammer it and get my truck dirty). What would yall do? For what I could sell my truck for lets say 6k with everything fixed. I could buy a stock 1990s or early 00s for 2-3k. And customize to what I want. The jeep cherokee in the pic is selling for 2500 with the 4in lift and 35in tires. PLEASE HELP. :dunno:

I love Jeeps!

A mildly lifted Cherokee on some 33s will get around 14-15 mpg if you are nice to it. Anything bigger and you might as well have a full sized truck (mileage wise)

A Cherokee or Grand Cherokee (unmolested) with the 4.0 can deliver 20 mpg pretty easily.

Like anything else, once you start lifting and adding big tires... you can kiss gas mileage goodbye.

its not so much the gas mileage as there is really no where close to where I live that I can mud. But trail runs would be easier. Spring Creek closed shutting off 4x4in for about 150 miles. I just keep looking at the jeeps. But I would want prob 37ins on it. lol.

Anything bigger than 33s on a Cherokee and you'll need to swap axles and start building stuff. 37s would be HUGE on a Cherokee.

You would be surprised where you can go in a Cherokee with 31s... They are so light. Here is my last one.

the GC was available with a V8 (the old Chrysler 318). 04 and newer GCs have the 4.7 Chrysler V8. I like the inline six best though. It's powerful, bulletproof, and lighter. If you wanna know a lot more about them go check out www.jeepforum.com

Everything you might want to know about them is listed there.
