It wasn't that he didn't want it. He had sponsors in place and Bud had a commitment with the previous team.

That's not how I remember it. I remember reading quite a few things saying he didn't like the "image" that would come with an alcohol sponsor...

Possible I guess. I never heard that angle but I know that Junior's old team would not let Budweiser out of their contractual agreement and Junior's new team was fully sponsored. I guess we are arguing over nothing... again.

The way I see it, Bud has enough money that IF they had wanted to go with Junior and IF Hendrick had wanted Bud, Bud could've just paid DEI the $$ owed for the rest of the contract, said "go find a new sponsor," and been gone..
