Ok... the G80 has been a topic of discussion forever! There were even people who refused to believe that it fully "locked" both rear tires together.

This is a video that I took to show how it works. You can not see it in this video (and in hindsite I wish I took a close up picture) but to get up this incline the passenger rear tire comes off the ground about 2".

I was also a bit surprised by the noise at first so I let off the gas... that's just the clutch packs engaging to lock the two axles together. Normally you won't hear this but since I engaged it at the minimum RPM it was a "slow" engagement.

Enjoy!

Hopefully this video clears up a lot of the "speculation" that I read out there.

It definitely locks both. Do something to get the locker engaged on pavement while at a stop or going very slow, then do a sharp turn, lol.

I use mine pretty regularly. Comes from the fact that I take my 2WD out into the dirt, sand, and mud. Managed to only get stuck once. Sometimes no sound when it locks other times is a pretty substantial clunk.

When the G80 is locked in, and you keep going, the whole truck shakes like a mofo

The G80 is also locked or open, there's no inbetween!

Eaton also made a pretty good video showing the differences between the G80 and limited slip

The G80 is great for everyday, non-hardcore use... But it seems to not last when it's subjected to a lot of major abuse :dunno:

Yea i swapped it out for a trutrac so i wouldn't have to worry about hammering the gas in the mud.
