I am considering putting a dual battery system in my truck. I have seen some kits that cost a couple hundred bucks and mount the second battery on the opposite side of the engine compartment from the stock battery. Does anyone know of any low budget DIY How To's?

go to gm parts direct, enter your vehicle info, go to electrical, battery, battery-tray, and it would be the left one I think...

I have an '02 Silvy with the air intake box on the passenger side also.

The only place I could think of in the engine compartment is the circled area:

OK well fucking photobucket isn't giving me my damn link.

By the AC compressor passenger side firewall is the only place I could see a second battery going.

It seems pretty small though. Why a second? Would a bigger alt be a better solution or no?

I'd rather be getting "stroked" than "rammed"

Shouldn't there be an OEM location for the second battery used on a diesel application?

yes where that poorly made circle that says second battery, thats where I was told it is located, but you need to add the mounting plate, or make one your self

The factory mount for the second battery is where the K & N filter is located, left front corner.
