I have been wanting to purchase a repair manual since I bought my truck but havent just because I forget and havent had to have it to this point. So I plan on buying one now, but i didnt know if any of you thought one was more thorough than the other.

Thanks.

I have never had one. So you would like to have both or just the Haynes?

If you get the Chiltons it will be good enough. I have had Haynes manuals before and they were more detailed IMO. Two is good but If I had to do it over I would try find a Haynes first.

Haynes usually seem easier to find, in my area anyways. I have seen them at autozone and I think Borders has a few in stock, but can order any of them.

Now I haven't compared one to the other for my particular truck. I am just going by past experience with the manual. For all I know they are equal now, but if the Haynes is readily available I'd pick it up.
