So how do you test drive this with no snow to make sure its good?
You can run them on the grass just not for long. Or put it up on a stand. Many, many years ago I worked at a snowmobile shop. So I kinda know what to look for.

So what did you do to check it out? Stand or just rolled it over grass and why cant you roll it over grass for very long? Shouldn't be an reason not to or would it ruin the tracks?

I did both. Ran it on a stand at the previous owners place and drove it in his yard. The reason you can't run it long in the grass is because on the rear skid there is 6 wheels to guide the track. On the bottom of the skid are 2 plastic pieces called hifaxs the the track slids on as the wheels kinda help. If you run it to long with out cooling them they will melt.

Finally found some hard to find part's since this sled is 14 year's old. Also order a front wheel kit for the rear suspension skid. Have a front skid plate to install still but put everything else on tonight. The third part are the rail grippers. Makes it so your feet don't slid around when snow gets on the foot boards.

Pretty cool. I have never rode one of those things.
Man I have. A lot.

I always ended up getting stuck and digging for hours LOL

As much as I love all things motorized, and going fast, they were always too much work for me.

The last draw was breaking down 5 miles from the truck, 5 degrees in deep powder, fighting to get that POS back to the truck.

All my friends had them and loved them though :D2

I don't even know anybody around here that has one. We had dirt bikes, three wheelers' and four wheelers' growing up, but no snow mobiles.
