A friend of mine is giving me a 427bbc that came out of a truck he had a while back he told me that since it was a truck it already had a heavy duty crank in it. I know that there are a lot of mods that can be done like heads pistons cams and I know that I eventualy want to put a supercharger on it. And I'm just wondering about recomendations for parts I should put in it over time.

What is an old Nova Silverado 1500?

Watch out, many 427 truck engines were tall decks, and have different manifolds, distributor, etc. Know what you are getting.

I'm sorry I'm on my cell I meant nova or silverado 1500 and what do you mean all decks?

Google "427 tall deck" and you will find a lot of information. I have just seen guys not know what they have just acquired, and have a low RPM Tonawanda Truck engine instead of a hot rod 427 passenger car engine.

Well I'm told it was from a truck and it was built for one I know that it won't be a rocketship but could you make the truck motor a hot rod?
