What's your thoughts on powder coating a lift kit? I've been thinking about getting mine powder coated but not sure. If so it will be metallic whatever the color.

Is it just raw steel now?

It's not ordered yet. Have the option to have it raw steel with FTS. Looking at Mcgaughty, FTS, or Showoff since they are all around the height level I'm looking for. As for the other two lifts I am able to do sandblasting through my work so that's not a big deal to remove the existing paint. Just looking for opinions on what other people think about it.

If it's raw steel, yes. If it's not, you can sandblast it for free, and don't mind shelling out some extra dough, why not?

Just don't know on the color. Being my wheels are machined and black and have red emblems. I was leaning toward maybe a dark metallic red or a metallic blue and debadging.

Its not my style, but a lot of guys on other forums powdercoat their lift kit and various other suspension parts all a vibrant color. For instance, Umberto had a lot of his suspension parts powder coated a copper color.

I have a buddy who sells $80K a month in lifts and accessories. He just installed a BDS lift on his personal truck that was just painted.

He pushes the Powder Coating to his customers. :D

So what does that tell you? It's certainly not a lack of funds on his part.

I've powder coated a lot of parts and doing a suspension kit seems to me like a really good thing to do. It takes abuse, won't chip or peel and just looks good.

Don't much care for colored "look at me" suspension parts myself. Much prefer all black and all business... But it's a preference thing. Some can look good. A lot depends on the application.
