Ok everyone, I've had way too much time on my hands lately to search the web and it got me to thinking.... If I spend money on gears, which is will come in around 2 grand for everything I'm sure, why not keep the stock gearing and put that money towards a supercharger? There aren't many kits out there for the 4.6, but I found a sponsor on another forum that has a lot of experience with the procharger and says he can get a kit and everything together for a good price.... I think with the extra power, my stock gears should be fine right? I guess I'm just looking for a way to spend more money  But the idea of supercharger sounds awesome to me, and especially one that I install myself....... What would you do? :tmc:

As much as I would love to say supercharger, I think that will be opening a whole big can of worms (read big money). Stock gears, bigger tires, and more power = broke transmission.

If you go super charger, I still think you need gears.

Not only that, read this in Mike Myers voice:

"Who supercharges a 4.6? Honestly!?"

I understand the gears, and eventually transmission and all. I see all of that needing upgrading at some point. The thing about gears is I wouldn't go to 4.11's I don't believe. With the extra power I think I wouldn't want that ratio, maybe 3.73, and I don't think I can warrant the cost of the gears with that small of a change until they were to eventually break

Why not do a 5.4 swap?

I read your other thread, for 33.3" tires, I think you need at least 4.11 gears regardless.
