Got up really early today to finally give the exterior of my truck some TLC.
Started @ 7:30a, finished @ 1:30p - my arms are killing me!
Cleaned the tires with Bleche-White, and the wheels with Black Magic's Wheel Cleaner.
I tried a few new products this time, including a new wash. I picked up a bottle of Black Magic's Car Wash. This was really sudsy and always kept foaming. It also has a really nice scent to it. I was using the Mr. Clean Auto Dry Car Wash, but learned that soap is very similar to dish soap.
Also picked up a new Absorber, my old one was cracking, this thing really soaks the water into the chammy very well.
Then moved onto ICE's Liquid Clay Bar, I tried it last year and it seemed to do the trick so I gave it another shot. Paint was a little rough in spots, not as smooth as my baby's bottom, but as soon as I got done claying the whole truck, the paint was just as smooth.
After the truck was completely dry after 30 minutes or so, I picked up a new bottle of Mothers FX Synwax Liquid Wax that I got at Napa yesterday, this wax also has a nice scent to it. For waxing I used my Wen Orbital Waxer.
While letting the wax dry to a haze, I polished up the chrome on the truck with my bottle of Noxon 7. If you don't remember my review of this stuff, I can repeat it by saying this stuff "just works". I used it on my Nasta steps, front & rear bumper, & once again my stainless tips.
I Love this Mothers FX Synwax! I have tried lots of other waxes before: 3 different kinds of Turtle Wax including ICE Wax, & Rain-X Wax. Last year I was using ICE, but that stuff just felt greasy on the paint and never felt like it got removed. The FX wax was so easy to remove, I even had lots on the black plastic, but this wax did not stick to it, it came right off with the microfiber.
Finished off with Rain-X on all windows, Armor All on all black plastic, and Black Magic Titanium Tire Wet Gel on the tires (I've never used a Gel on my tires before, so I'm interested to see how this hold up).
I've never seen my paint shine like this before, smoooooooth as glass!
