Custom ’69-Camaro-To-Fifth-Gen Conversion

One of the reasons that the car industry builds concept cars is to get people excited about what could be coming in the future. Well, that’s exactly what happened to the owner of Danz Customs in Menasha, Wisconsin, when he saw the 2006 Camaro concept that would eventually become the production 5th Gen Camaro we know and love today.

Dan, the builder, modified a 1969 Camaro to include the newest styling features that were being shown on the 2006 concept car. If nothing else, the car attracts attention wherever it goes. Dan told CarPictures.com “In 2006 the new Camaro was just a concept with no definite plans to go to production. I took a real 1969 Camaro and modified it to look some what like the 2006 concept Camaro, thinking that I would have the only one in the world if the Camaro never went to production.”

As it turns out of course, the Camaro did go to production and Dan still has the only 1969 Danz Camaro SS concept car. A lot of fabrication work has certainly been invested in this one-off Bowtie. Dan takes personal credit for the hood scoop and rear spoiler designs. With so many late model Camaros being reworked to resemble their classic first-gen Chevy ancestors, or even Pontiac Firebirds, it’s interesting to see a genuine ’69 Camaro gone the other direction.

Mind you, this custom Camaro isn’t just built for show. Underneath that unique exterior is a 427 small block with dual quads on a crossram intake manifold. Taking that power message to the street is a 700R4 automatic transmission and a Ford 9-inch rear axle.

So, if you’re driving around the north end of Lake Winnebago in Wisconsin and something orange and vaguely disturbing flashes by, now you’ll know what is it. It has absolutely nothing to do with cheese or the dairy industry.

So... the owner of a 69 camaro made a concept car out of the 2010 concept car to look like the original 69 camaro.

Personally not digging it

Sorry... lots of work there but it's just plain awful! The sides look more like a Mustang than any Camaro I ever saw.

Why ruin a '69 Camaro like that?

I have been trying to think of something positive to say about it, but...

It took a lot of work and it looks nicely done
