Money not a factor, I would pick the CTS-V over the other options as well. But I agree with you...it's the resale value that will keep me away from a CTS-V (or most American cars unfortunately). As often as we trade vehicles at our house, resale value plays a fairly large roll in our decision making when purchasing vehicles.

That is a sweet-ass car! My favorite part was at like 1:51 - 1:54, 559 at the wheels

I was bored one night and was looking for used CTS-V's. I'd say they hold their value well especially compared to other 4 door sedans.

I didn't see any 2007+ much under 30k.

Well I looked a bit more, and you can get some older 2005 -2006 CTS-V's for closer to 20 than 30.

Problem is... if you look at what they sell for new and then what they sell for two years old... you could buy some real estate in some places with the money lost. One of the largest issues I have with buying an American car is the resale generally SUCKS. I buy cars for a living and it is incredible to see how bad some of them drop. If you buy one, the only way to get yout money out of it is to drive 5 years or more. I can't keep one over a year myself... I get itchy to get something else.

That's true. You probably did lose the same % of MSRP. I had no idea a new CTS-V was so expensive.

I need to close out of those sites . . .

They sure are NICE! WOW!

I believe the US auto industry is finally on the right track or at least heading that way. The glut of the 70s, 80s just about did them in when reality and quality issues caught up with them in the 90s. Offerings coming out now are really getting attention world wide. Bringing up the perception that everybody has of them will help stabilize their resale value over time. Honda's Accord (which is a great car) might not BE that much better of a car, but public perception that it is drives resale through the roof.

Things are starting to look up. I'm pulling for the good old USA here.

I want I want!!!

I would also love a CTS-V. Crap, as long as I am making a list of wants. I will take a ZR1 while I'm at it.

Come on Jim. It's just a $115,000. Go for it.
