Glad you guys had fun, that's what it's all about.
The trail sign said 4 wheel drive required and also had a big sign that said "All off road vehicles must stay on designated roads" No kidding!!
I think the road to my house is rougher "off-road" than that.

It's funny what you see sometimes. I have taken little cars on "trails" marked "high clearance 4wd only" and rarely had any problems.

Went for a ride today in the FJ.....had a great time. The trail this time had some real make your ass pucker spots. The FJ made it trough some difficult spots. Don't have many pictures, hard to take them when your driving....

Some of the pictures below will show me going up a very slick hill, it was wet, lot of loose rock and my tires suck for this kind of stuff. The shots after those of a Jeep that picked a line that was just slightly off......this spot was real so slick the Jeep almost went over.

It's a fun rig for sure!!! Also has been getting 17.6 to 18.3 MPG combined but mostly city. Not bad MPG, better than I thought. The fun factor is great, the wife and I have been house hunting (on contract now) and saw a spot and just went for it off road. I had few split logs in the back and we wheeled the FJ up on the side of some hills stopped and made a fire. Put on some music and just chilled while watching the sun set over Tucson.

That trail looks fun!!!

I know as well as anyone that pictures never do trail riding justice.... so if it looks steep/challenging in a picture, it's DEFINITELY an ass pucker trail!

The group of shots of me coming up the hill looks easy for sure. The bottom was full of ruts, loose rocks and giant rocks just waiting to tear apart the bottom of the FJ. Just getting into the the bottom was challenge, it was one of those if your not going up going back will be just as puckering

I had a very experienced passenger with me to show me the line and also tell me to use the throttle more. After a few tries I found the line, had feel for the terrain the right amount of foot on the gas peddle, a little more confidence in myself and in the FJ, the next thing I know we are wheeling up this thing and are going to conquer it.

The celebration at the top was way cool. All these guys in the group were giving high fives and just as excited to see me and the FJ make it as I was. A cold beverage and about 10 minutes of talking about it and we hit the trail again.
