it dosnet look burnt dose it? what about the smokey haze in the pan?It actually looks good. but only a analysis would really determine the actually life left in it. The magnet also look good. You gonna get some stuff like that on there. It part of life with the transmission. ..As long as there were no big metal shavings.

My pan looked IDENTICAL to that with the gray muddy/greasy sludge in the bottom. I wonder what that stuff is? :dunno: And Nick, if you are reading this, this is what I was talking about when I mentioned a muddy looking sludge in the bottom of my pan.

Its metal particles and what not. Normal wear from the clutch packs. A fine mess like that is ok. Thats why they put the magnet in. Anything bigger is when you have problems....Unless the entire pan is caked in it.
Then flushing the transmission is the least of your concerns.

On mine, it did cover the entire botom of the pan, but it was a very thin film just like in his pic. It was a lot thicker on the magnet than the rest of the pan. It pretty much looked identical to that pic. No metal particles or shavings though. It was all fine like that, it looked and felt like a sludge. I wiped most of it out with paper towels, then cleaned the pan really good with carb cleaner.

Your going to have a slight film on the bottom of the pan. That is the clutch lining, which is not magnetic. I was talking about the bottom of the pan looking like the magnet altogether. That is considered excessive.
If the fluid was dark and burnt, then its a different story as you have a toasted transmission.

Sorry to have missed this back in April. That all looks normal for a tranny fluid change out and pan drop. I just tried to find my post when I changed out my transmission fluid and pan but can't find it. I know I posted it but it is gone. Anyone know if we lost some threads for some reason?:dunno:

I wonder why when I did a search under my screen name and thread post I couldn't find it. I found my Brake bleeding thread and fuel filter change but not the transmission one. Oh well, I'll chock it off as a :ninja: move.
Thanks Jarrod.
