I have a question about my TPMS on my 08 Silverado. My warning light came on yesterday to tell me that my left rear tire was low; I checked it and discovered that the left rear tire was fine, but the left front was low. I filled up the tire, 7 pounds, and the warning light went off, I let out air until I got another warning and it was for the left rear again. How do I tell the system to change the TPMS locations?

I don't remember the exact instructions off the top of my head but there is a section in the owners manual. In my case, I set the DIC to "learn mode" for tpms (check the manual for this) then starting at the drivers front, let out air pressure until the horn beeps once. Then move on to the passenger front until the horn beeps and so on ending at the driver rear tire. After the 4th tire, the horn will give 3 quick beeps I believe. It is at this point that the TPMS locations are "learned." This is the jist of it...there might be a few more specifics I left out so check the manual.

I know some guys have trouble with this procedure and can't get it to work on their trucks. So far, I haven't had any issues. I do it each time I rotate the tires.

He's right on the mark. You have to do the relearn procedure to set the TPMS to recognize tire locations after a rotation. Apparently your left front and left rear have been swapped at some point.

Thanks Matt, I will RTFM  At first I thought maybe my rotating the tires could have caused the problem, but the left rear is on the right front. I move the rears straight forward and the front diagonally back.

It's one of the few things I have actually looked in the manual for.

Um....if you moved the rears straight forward, then the left rear is now on the left front. The left front is now on the right rear. Think about it. :D

That tpms has been nothing but a pain in the ass on the wife's 06 impala. No problems with it on the truck so far except false readings when its real cold out.
